MINOCAME 瞳孔が閉じない ー 視神経系に問題？
引越す前、家内が気が付いた。グレピの瞳孔、明るい所でも黒目があまり縦に細長くならない…….。
家内に瞳孔が閉じにくそうだと聞かされて思い当たることが．．．．．。なんか明るい所に行くとすごく眩しそうだし、あまり明るい所に行きたがらないような気が．．．．。
獣医さんによるとグレピの視神経系に少し問題があるかもしれず、目自体あまり見えていないかもとのこと。新しい家に引越した後、私が家にいない時もずっと家内が様子を看てくれているのであるが、全く見えていないということもなさそう。というのも、前の家は目が悪くなる前から家の中の家具や置いてある物の位置を殆ど変えておらず。グレピがそれらの配置をある程度記憶しており、記憶を頼りにだいたい検討をつけて移動している可能性があるとの獣医さんの指摘があったのだが、記憶を頼れない新しい家でも迷うことなく歩いたり走ったりしているので、どうもそこまでは目は悪くなさそうだ。
だが、瞳孔が閉じ難くて眩しそうという点は確かなようだ。朝の時間帯などは部屋に東から太陽光が沢山入ってきてリビングはかなり明るい。そういう強い光が部屋にある時は、ダイニング・テーブル下の椅子の上にいることが多い。そこは天気のよい朝でも直射日光は強烈には届かない場所だ。

嬉しいことに、獣医さんが処方して下さった目薬と飲み薬を家内が根気よくグレピに毎日あげ続けてくれた結果、状態はよい方向に向かってくれて以前よりかは明るい場所で瞳孔が閉じるようになってきた。（私も上げたいけど、激しく嫌がる．．．．．ていうか逃げ回る。家内じゃないとダメ。）しかし、兄弟のクロピの眼の瞳孔が完全に縦長に細くなっている時でも、その直ぐ側にいるグレピの瞳孔は少し開き気味だったりするので、残念ながら完全には治っていないし、治り切らないかも。
グレピもクロピも人間で言えばもう６０歳をはるかに超える老猫（２００８年生まれ）。高齢になれば体のどこかに問題が出てくるのは人間も猫も一緒。少し見えにくくても、幸いクロピが元気一杯で、グレピはクロピの後に付いて先導役のクロピを頼りに今日も元気に歩き回り、走り回っている。
家内も私もいつもグレピとクロピを見守っている。何かあえばみんなでグレピを守る！

Optic nerve issue of our cat
Before we move into new house in ’21 Apr, my wife noticed that brown eyes of Gurepi must have problem of aperture control.
She noticed that he is not so easy to close pupil. Yes, recently Gurepi tend to stay at dark place at my home. Even after we move into new house, he stay longer time at bottom of dinning table, where the strong daylight is difficult to reach. We brought him to the dog and cat hospital. The doctor told us that he might have some problem on optic nerve to control the pupil adjustment. The doctor provided us the eye drops and internal medicine.

We have been afraid of Gurepi’s eyes condition. But fortunately, thanks to the medicine and quite close care by my wife and his brother Kuropi when I don’t stay at home, he is recovering the pupil control. As evidence, he recently goes to bright area at my home by himself, although it is still difficult to recover the perfect aperture control level with his brown eyes.
His age is corresponding into over 60 years oil as human… or even more. Regardless of human or cat, senior age has some problem of body somewhere as usual.
Fortunately his brother, Kuropi, is vey kind and support him very well. Whenever Kuropi walk or run, he try to keep up Kuropi. And Kuropi confirm if he never loose the way. Then of course, my wife and myself try to watch carefully his condition.
All of us care and try to support him to avoid any trouble by brown eye’s control.
