Shooting trial of Leica M11

At Leica Store Kyoto

Took a cup of coffee after work, teleworking due to  highly infectious variant ‘omicron’, at home and went to Leica Store Kyoto, less than 10 mins walk from my home. In advance, I asked the store to provide me the opportunity of shooting trial with Leica M11 + APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH.

I also wanted the trial with APO-Summicron-M f2/35mm ASPH. But it wasn’t available.

Trial result

Leica M11 + APO-SUMMICRON-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH
Leica M11 + APO-SUMMICRON-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH

50mm or 35mm?

Leica’s products are all hand-made in Germany at this moment. A lot of Leica freaks in the world are ordering APO lenses at this moment. In case of APO-Summicron-M 50mm, the store told me that it is relatively faster to get it, while it takes 6 or even over 12 months after I order APO-Summicron-M 35mm. For the coming one month, I still consider which lens should be my 1st APO lens to use with my 1st digital Leica. The probability show high potential that I order APO’s 35mm.

Which model as my 1st digital Leica?

I like B&W photography. Therefore my concerning is when Leica M11 Monochrome appear. In case of M10 Monochrome, the market wait about 3 years after M10 was launched. So M11 Monochrome also might have the longer suspension time.

Anyway, it still takes relatively longer time until my 1st APO lens is on my hand. Until the time, I enjoy the selection.
